Beware Of Heavy Metals Screening
Numerous commercial labs have opened up in the past 10 years which purport to accurately analyze hair samples, urine or blood for abnormalities. The results of these somewhat inaccurate tests often cause panic in the consumer because inevitably it will show some “dangerous” level of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, Cadmium, chromium or others. The suggested “remedy” is often called chelation and while it is an acceptable procedure under supervised conditions, the chelation offered around the country by commercial labs is not something that provides much benefit. The primary symptom that is talked about is “brain fog” and other all too common subjective complaints many of us have in this modern world. Please be careful and use common sense when thinking about these types of screens, unless there is actual concern for a potential poisoning, in which case you should go to the ER.
