Traumatic Brain Injury Common Among Homeless Population
A study of more than 900 homeless men and women in Toronto showed that an astonishing 58% of the homeless men and 42% of the homeless women have a history of traumatic brain injury. For many people, the first instance of brain injury occurs at a young age, suggesting that it could have set off a chain of events leading to homelessness. The study again highlights the seriousness of brain injury to a life as a successful human being.
